is faking a mental illness a mental illness?

False claims don't project reality. Anyway, no, just means you want attention or an excuse for something.
and what do you think causes someone to want attention so badly that they fake mental illnesses?

Munchausen is a mental illness that revolves around faking sickness to get things like doctor's notes, money or attention.

They are still mentally ill, just not with what they think they have.
thats rare compared to people who fake mental illnesses, doubt that its the cause for 99% of cases

woman like to be coddled more, but it can go both ways who knows
I think people may also fake it because they maybe ARE already struggling with a mental illness. But they aren't receiving proper care or attention that they need. So they try to overcompensate and make their mental state seem worse so more people take them srsly
