One technique I've heard is to wash your face, pat it dry and wait for 3 hours. If your face is oily after that, you most likely have oily skin.
If your face is also shiny, it is a sign that you have oily skin.

What I mean is that my face caught lots of stuff throughout the day and got dirty, and when I wash my face, it becomes clean, which is why you should wash.

I still would, even at home, when ur eating, brushing etc micro particles of dust and dirt are still gonna end up on ur face

Yea my skin tone actually noticeably changes. I usually go out for about 8 hrs a day without washing my face, and after washing it, it feels much better as well.
