Is there hope for me after all?

I was at the subway station, going home from university, and I was waiting for my subway to arrive.

As I was standing and waiting, I look to my right and there’s a girl who just arrived, I briefly hold eye contact with her & I break it off immediately. She proceeds to sit down on the bench near me.

I don’t look at her at all anymore. Five minutes pass, and a subway arrives. It’s not the one I need to get on. She gets up, walks to the door along with other people. She is now like ten feet away from me.

Normally, I don’t look at girls, but this time I did. While she was waiting for the door to open, I felt like taking one last look at her. As I do that, I see that she turns her head my way, and we look at each other, a couple of seconds, before I break off eye contact again.

After that, I turn around and avoid looking back at the subway because I don’t want her to think to herself “He’s so ugly.”

It got me thinking… Maybe there are girls out there who like ugly dudes? If so, bless their hearts. I hope they get a chad instead.
