I’d say at least 90% of ppl do this if u ask them something simple like “can I have this last cookie?” or “do u wanna do go to this place?”

If they lie they will respond in a positive way but with a question tone even if very slight u can notice

Like the same unsure tone ppl use when asking u a question with a higher pitch at the end

Very different from answering something confidently

It might be very slight but usually u can pick up on it

I mostly use this to not bother ppl off with bigger lies this rarely works as ppl know to make sure to sound more confident even tho it works sometimes especially with children and some adults can let it slip

But with small things like taking the last food or going somewhere to even asking for someone’s number u can easily tell if ppl are enthusiastically doing it or out of politeness
