Kibbe Face Essences
╰── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──╯

The Kibbe essences are actually based on David Kibbe's style essences (they use the same names), they're a guide that uses your bone structure, flesh, and facial features to find the most flattering dress style. This can be further applied focusing on facial features to figure out the best hair and makeup suits your features best.

Kibbe focuses on yin and yang features. Yin is the more feminine soft and rounded features. Yang is the more masculine sharp and angular. It's important to remember most people are a blend of yin and yang. So most people will have more than one strong essence.

Yin Facial Features
  • Face Shape: Round or soft outline.
  • Cheekbones: Soft, less prominent, and may appear low-set.
  • Eyes: Large and round, often described as "doe-like".
  • Nose: Softer bridge, smaller, and can have an upturned look.
  • Lips: Full, soft, and more curved.
Yang Facial Features
  • Face Shape: Angular, sharp outline.
  • Cheekbones: Sharp, prominent bone structure.
  • Eyes: Narrow, straight, or almond-shaped, sometimes deep-set.
  • Nose: Strong, straight, and more prominent.
  • Lips: Thin, more structured, and straight.

The 7 Essences

  • Dramatic:
Defined by sharp, elongated, and high-contrast features, creating a bold, powerful, and theatrical impression.
