The grammar is similar to english a lot of regular words are similar.

For example, cat = kat, sun = zon, son = zoon, book = boek, paper = papier

Obviously there's words that aren't similar at all but a lot are. And the rules shouldn't be all too different, I know that people who learn Dutch struggle with 'de' and 'het' though

Hi guys im planning on learning dutch soon
Well idk yet im between Spanish and dutch
Is Dutch actually as easy as people say🤔
I want feedback on how hard the grammer is from dutch speakers
who told you dutch is easy? It's probably the hardest european language to learn. Every region speaks a different dialect and has its own vocabulary for words and sayings, some regions have dialects and sound like entire different languages like 'fries' in the netherlands and flemish in belgium where flemish(dutch dialect) is also spoken differently in every province in the country with west flanders being the most unique.

So a lot of vocabulary , tenses, constructing phrases and spelling are difficult even many native speakers struggle with these things.

Spanish is one of the easier ones and will probably be more usefull globally.

What nbernical is describing here is the similarity in origin of the languages english and dutch having both evolved from germanic but that also counts for german, scandi languages so it's natural these languages have similar words but thats about it. From the germanic languages dutch probably evolved to be the most complicated language compared to the other ones
example:
Ik heb gisteren een fiets gekocht. literal translation = i have bought a bike yesterday but its i bought a bike yesterday

Ik wil morgen een nieuwe telefoon kopen = I want tomorrow a new phone to buy correct= I want to buy a new phone tomorrow

No its just hard to be fluent at, but you’re better off just learning german

Tell any ai to give you 30 words and tell it to use them in sentences and every day do the same and revise and by the end of the month you have already almost 1k words also while using other resources but this should help with the vocab
