Life as a 5ft4 male is rough. You know that meme where it's like "Me at 7 years old randomly gaining consciousness bla bla bla". Well like, that's the same with height if you are an ultra-manlet.

I was always the smallest kid in my school. The short and stubby one who would be always picked last for dodgeball, the kid who would always be teased for not being able to jump high enough to hit the top of the door frame, the kid who had to sit in the front row with the girls when talking class photos. Every one of these moments feel emasculating as fuck.

I remember at 13, being in my room late at night searching up shit like

"How to grow during puberty reddit"
"Height growth stories short to tall reddit"
"Foods that increase height"
"Ways to increase height"

And I would read these comments on how people started out as the shortest kid in the class and would go on to becoming super tall in a matter of a year or so just because of some stupid growth spurt.

"It will come at 14"
"It will come at 15"
"16 is my year"
"Some people grow past 16"
"17 is probably it"
"Just one inch before I turn 18"

And that brings me here today where I am looking up for stories on Reddit for people who grew during their early 20s.

5 fucking 4.

Do you know how father fuckingly embarrassing it is to not being able to help my mom reach the top shelf? She would always tell me to call my YOUNGER brother who is 5 FUCKING 7 FOR SOME REASON.

Or worse, how about when you are cleaning out the garage with your uncles and they just immediately assume you can handle any heavy loads or even help with the slightest thing that involves strength. Mind you I've been going to the gym for 7 fucking years.

No one gives a shit though because of my stature, and I've seen the way men and women my age look down at me. If overheard girls being dared to talk to me or saying one of them likes me as a fucking tease. That shit would hurt so much that It would be on my mind for weeks on end, leading to some nights where I go to bed tearing up.

Honestly don't know if I can take this shit anymore. I'm close to the point of breaking down and going outside just feels like a humiliation ritual. Really feels as if though there will be no redemption to my life.

Sorry for the long vent post but thanks to anyone who cared enough to read the ramblings of perma-fucked big boy wannabe loser.

Sorry for weird sentence structures

Was basically sobbing as I wrote this
you are not any less of a human for your height. I am so sorry that you’ve had this experience so far, but I do not pity you because it has made you strong. sometimes life is just out of your control, but I think the only thing that might get you a growth spurt would be some growth hormone. I’ll keep you in my prayers.

Thanks I actually really appreciate it

I also don't mean that rude language I used towards my family, just frustration taking the reigns sometimes

Again, thanks

it’s okay everyone has moments of frustration, and I don’t blame you for wanting a way to release your emotions. Just remember that you are more than just your height- you have worth outside of just your physical appearance.

I did actually last September, no dice

Now I just need to focus on finding a way to live with myself. It's a really hard thing to do.

ngl i know many short people, some way shorter than 5'4 and yet they still manage to have fun with life. i believe if people, especially women perceive you as a confidence-less person they will automatically not respect you.

if people insult you or make fun of you just live it off, after all height is not the end of the world

you have every right to feel the way you do. the fact that you’ve kept going to the gym and are even still caring enough to write all this and look for connection is admirable.

I hope you know there are people who see past your height, and who know that height doesn’t measure the weight of a person’s worth

You are worth it! im rooting for you bud
