step 1) wait until an hour before sunset

step 2) find a place to pose so that the sunlight is shining directly towards you

step 3) hold the camera/phone as far away as possible. this minimizes lens distortion. later you should crop the image to frame your face/remove arm from the photo.

step 4) take a ton of pics, you will sort through them later to pick the best ones. if you intend to look at the camera (generally not considered ideal), make sure to look at the lens (eg on a small phone camera lens)

step 5) after selecting the best pics, touch them up lightly to remove skin imperfections (do not go overboard here) then try a few different filters.
Be careful not to cast harsh shadows on your face.

Congratulations you now have a perfect looking selfie

Sun lighting makes you look so angelic
If you're talking about a light flare you right that's why I emphasized keeping the camera further away and adjusting the position correctly in step 3. With the right adjustment, that flare transforms into a stylish glow rather than an annoying white glare.

Thanks, good idea for a future tinder profile picture for when I will eventually create that account after my ex refuses me again
