i keep around people who’ve done horrible things to me because i care about them too much even though these things are unforgivable and then they continue, but then they’ll do nice things for me and then i feel good and crawl back. how the fuck do i get over having a submissive personality?

You assess your relationship (and potential future relationship) with them on who they (optimistically) could be based on the small amount of time their attitude towards you is nice and kind

Them being horrible people most of the time makes their few good actions seem much more impactful and significant than they really are and gives you a feeling of relief almost

You need to look at how they are actually consistently acting towards you rather than focusing on the sporadic moments of positivity. realise that if there’s no change in this (for the better) over time then chances are they aren’t ever going to treat you properly

i mean yeah, but the thing that i don’t understand is why they’re going to sit and tell me that they don’t understand why they’re do it to me because i mean so much and they love me, or they just use me, and if i don’t give them the reaction they want they threaten to leave, i’ll beg of course because why would i want someone that “loves” me and that i love to leave, its not like its 100% bad but the people have done things that have impacted me long term, and i know its not good like im aware that the projection and past trauma is still messing with me but its not just feeling wanted it’s like they actually love me? i believe it?
