Oh well congrats for deciding to do it now!
I don't have experience but my friends process of getting girlfriends were something like
Instagram dm -> party kiss -> sex -> situationship -> formal couple
now you seem like different mindset from that lifestyle so maybe try to do it like movies? you train with him right? Tell him during or before training that before leaving you want to tell him something important and take him somewhere to confess?

Any way works, id like it if some girl approached me and told me. Ik it can be scary for the girl tho. And ik girls like to play their little games and test guys 😆😂
 
n*****s here are saying how doesn't matter, but that’s not true, man. You can’t just tell him, I like you, without a plan or approach. You guys are thinking from an incel perspective, where any attention from a woman would be eagerly welcomed, but this guy has had previous relationships, and maybe even some emotional baggage based on the message he sent. With that in mind, I would agree that being direct and blunt would be better, if you know you will be awkward if done thoughtfully.

There’s never an inappropriate time unless it’s their wedding or a loved one’s funeral and maybe their birthday?

Anyway is good unless it’s super excessive and creepy
