For extractions:
Dental implants are static, do not have PDL and osseointegrate directly into the bone. They are not used in children as it can cause deformities due to the inability of movement or adaptation and potential bone growth stopping. Mike Mew claims it stops facial expansion or adaptability completely from working. However, they preserve the place and bone through stimulation.
Mesialization brings the back teeth forward into the missing place (typically molars). Takes longer with the scope of letting the old socket resorb that way the back teeth can slide into place forwardly. Supposedly, that doesn't cause net bone loss and instead keeps the face adaptable to mewing, growth and mass.
Rather skeptical of mesialization claiming to not cause any facial collapse, or flattening. Thoughts?
Post-treatment and after (span of a year or two difference) pictures of people who've done either is appreciated.
