most friendships only survive because no one is honest

There are no real "friends" on this planet just as there is no real "love" on this planet, both of them rest entirely on either appearances, validation, or other transactions. This doesn't mean you shouldn't have friends or relationships, as they can bring you personal benefits, only that you should fully understand the true nature behind them so you don't get the short end of the stick.
