in reality no one is free, we gave up our freedom for safety and protection to the state by the state, in a world where everyone was truly free only the strongest would be free because they’d be able to limit or take the freedom of those who couldn’t protect themselves in a lawless world, a world where freedom exist for everyone can’t exist it would always result in chaos. In these modern days this rule still applies the rich have more freedom then others some aren’t even bound a little bit by the rules of the state to which mankind has given their freedom. Anyways these philosophies have existed since before the world started existing out of soveign states it has existed since the enlightenment period thomas hobbes ‘the leviathan, john locke , montesquie, kant , jean jacques rousseau,… Basically talking about the social contract where the price was freedom and you have no choice to pay the toll.
