For people who don't wanna 15-20 volumes on each subject...

1) Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources by Martin Lings
1000053162.webp

Great book, deals with life of Muhammad & society of bedouin Arabia before islams, information in book are taken from contemporaries of Prophet Muhammad like Ibn Ishaq.

2) A History of Islamic Societies by Ira M. Lapidus

1000053164.webp
Its a really thick book & a long read, it's around 1000 pages and deals with everything from the great split of Shias & Sunnis to seige of Bakhdad, from pre islamic arabia to expansion of islam through caliphate. From Philosophy to core islamic thought & jurisprudence. If u want to read 1 book on islam than it has to be this.

3) Anthology of Islamic Literature by James Kritzeck
1000053165.webp

It's an compilation of select stories from 1001 nights , rubaiyats, masnavis, qasida & other sufi poetries. Great book, easy to understand writing & prose.

Bro i have not slept or ate in like 20 hours ill read later lowk

inb4 muh muh pedo
Pedophilia was common at that time, people need to come up with better argument if they want to refute islamic thought & it's teachings. Prophet's teachings changed the superstitious & dogmatic society of pre islamic society of Arabia so a couple of bad things in his name doesn't cancels out all the great things.

And yh bishops & priests exploited far more children then prophet & his followers.
Very halal post.
Thx, how much core islamic litreature you've read so far ? I hope you've read atleast more than me since you're religious & I'm not muslim, I started getting into islamic litreature last year.

cuz sheiks etc often glaze subjects and arent very criticizing imo
idk maybe im wrong
js what i think
its always interesting to look at things from a diff perspecitive
Not to mention, many sheikhs are soy sheikhs who are westernized and spread anti-Islamic ideas

You shouldn't read from non Muslim historians and religion enthusiasts but fine
Do u want me to suggest beginners to read massive 20 volume comprehensive islamic litreature ? I js suggested 3 best initial reads to get into things. And no it doesn't matter, if u still think that someone's background or faith matters more than their work than u still haven't learned Prophet's teachings.

viel wel mee opzich, als je uit de zon bleef
De zon scheen nauwelijks maar alsnog fucking warm, jeetje zeg

i want to read quran
Qurans is too archaic & difficult to read. Begin with 1st book i mentioned & then ur good to go.

many are also scared to criticize the saudi government because they don't want to end up in prison like some
Good point, yeah 👍

if you find the quran too difficult to read you should read the tafsir of the quran by as-sa'di
That's still not beginner friendly, it's like 10 massive volumes of commentary on Quran.

No religion has ever been about science, and thread was about islamic history, art, litreature & teachings, it's pointless to argue about what's right or wrong cuz I never mentioned or said anything about theology.
