My lighter lit on fire

It was really close to my grill like on the side
I turn to look at a sound I heard, I turn back & a huge flame erupts on like the table next to my grill
I grabbed the lighter with my tongs to throw it in the pool. Threw it & it blew up in the air ~ landed in the pool
It didnt blow like a bomb blowing up it was just the fire on it got bigger and it had a sound
I wasen't even scared just shocked tbh
