I'm a single mom with a son who's gotten really into looksmaxxing. I found some makeup and a hammer in his room.

One day I walked in and he was hitting himself in the face with it. I thought he was trying to hurt himself but he explained he was looksmaxxing.

He doesn't have a father figure to speak to him so I'm wondering what I should say to him to get him to stop.

I doubt this is legit but just explain to him that bonesmashing doesn't work, because it doesn't. If he wants to do other safer stuff like skincare, working out, dieting, makeup, or whatever let him. It's normal to want to look good.
