My voice has been getting higher

Since 13 i started developing my voice, at 15 it was kinda stable, so it didnt change until 17, my current age. Now i feel like my voice has been getting higher, and ive always had a deep voice. anyone knows the reason? and can anyone tell me how to fix?

actually i was exposed to smoke all the time because my mom smokes like 10 cigars a day, and now ive been smoke free since like a year

Testosterone thickens vocal chords so if your test dips, your voice can sound higher. Then there's also thyroid hormones but im assuming you're doing well there.

Sometimes ur voice feels higher because youre noticing subtle changes in tone/resonance, even if the actual fundamental frequency hasn’t changed much (stress or anxiety can also make the voice temporarily higher).

just take vocal rest to fix it.

but if the pitch change is sudden/significant, see an otolaryngologist or laryngologist.

Low thyroid hormone (T3/T4) (hypothyroidism) means reduced metabolism which means fluid retention in tissues WHICH THEN MEANS swelling (edema) of vocal folds. It causes vocal folds become heavier and less elastic (voice becomes deeper).

hyperthyroidism obv means excess thyroid hormone, so there's increased metabolism, which causes vocal fold thinning and possible muscle fatigue in laryngeal muscles. So voice becomes thinner/higher pitched.

normal adult male voice is ~85to170 Hz fundamental frequency (as far as i remember)
Hypothyroidism can drop pitch by 5 to 15 Hz (deeper).
Hyperthyroidism can raise pitch by 10 to 20 Hz (lighter voice)
