yes, the biological urge to have sex, as well as the reason it feels good, is because our bodies want to reproduce. that doesnt mean a persons brain actually wants that though. in todays world people want it because of feeling good/making somebody else feel good, AKA connection. think of all the people that abandon the woman the second they discover she is pregnant. or the women who abort their babies

In my opinion in this sense hedonists are coping because facing the biological reality would force responsibility since sex is for reproduction, whether they want to acknowledge it or not.
So it's just a workaround that lets them indulge without acknowledging purpose, consequence, or selection since only humans can afford to lie to themselves like this.
