American physco, a clockwork orange and 1984 are among my favourites (I can’t read)

Average “deep” person
Not really. The Godfather, because I’m a dago, Animal Farm is a nothingburger if you can’t come to the same conclusion as the book on your own, you’re ngmi, and I just like Gone With the Wind. It’s a classic American novel.

Everyone I met who loves animal farm misunderstood it completely

Thank you. So many people just default to “muh communism bad,” which, while true, is such a gross oversimplification that I can't engage with it.

Against totalitarianism not really communism
they can overlap but they’re not the same thing it’s just people think they are because communist countries became that controlling

Against totalitarianism not really communism
Agreed. I argue that the actual theme of the book is that power corrupts, rather than warning against any specific economic system.

Against totalitarianism not really communism
I’d say that’s more 1984 as animal farm is mainly an allegory against Stalin while 1984 completely focused on totalitarianism as a whole
