Step-by-Step NCT Improvement Plan (Age 15–18)
Phase 1: Non-Surgical Strategies (Age 15–16)
Goal: Improve the appearance of your eyes without surgery while your face is still growing.
- Eyelid & Eye Muscle Exercises
- Outer corner lift: Sit upright, gently lift the outer corner of your eye with your finger while trying to smile. Hold 5 sec, repeat 10×.
- Eye widening: Open eyes as wide as possible, hold 5 sec, repeat 10×.
- Note: These won’t change bone structure, but can improve muscle tone slightly.
- Posture & Neck Alignment
- Keep your chin slightly up and neck straight, which subtly lifts outer eye corners.
- Makeup / Visual Tricks
- Eyeliner or shadow techniques: Draw a slight upward angle at the outer corner.
- Mascara curling: Curl lashes outward to make the eye appear more lifted.
- Healthy Lifestyle
- Maintain good sleep, hydration, and low salt intake to avoid puffiness that can worsen NCT appearance.
Phase 2: Preparatory Stage (Age 16–17)
Goal: Assess your facial growth and decide if surgery may be considered in the future.
- Consult a Specialist
- See a board-certified oculoplastic or facial plastic surgeon.
- Discuss your NCT, overall eyelid shape, and long-term growth patterns.
- Monitor Growth
- Take photos every 6–12 months to see how your eyes and face are developing.
- This helps decide if surgery will be necessary or if non-surgical appearance strategies are sufficient.
- Non-Invasive Options
- Some teens explore temporary eyelid tape or fillers (only under doctor supervision).
- These are reversible and safe while waiting for full growth.
Phase 3: Surgical Consideration (Age 17–18+)
Goal: Perform permanent correction safely after most facial growth is complete.
