Make this hypothetical experiment:

In front of your, there is a pill that you have to decide if you will or won't swallow.

That pill is know to give the highest amount of pleasure that the human brain could ever experience; in numbers, its infinite pleasure.
However, that effect only lasts for a short period of time and the rest of your life will be miserable.

So, you have to decide: is experiencing an infinite amount of pleasure but living years from now on in a limited yet persistent misery worth it?
if you answered no, in this case, you are rationally obliged to follow negative utilitarianism in order to not fall into contradiction.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Via the experiment of the pill, you discovered that you prefer to not experience pleasure when it also gives you suffering because that suffering eliminates something that you give the uppermost importance.

That is "pax animi", the absence of: suffering, psychological and emotional disturbances... Also know as peace of mind.

It is only when you give priority to eliminating the roots of suffering (even the ones pleasurable) that you can achieve that.
And to help you with that, the principles of negative utilitarianism were created, and they are listed in the next part of this text.

Reminds me of this story (paraphrasing obv so it won’t be as good as the original): An employee was working over night at an office. His company makes printers that can print anything and he had one of them inside his office. As per his routine, he decided to print a coffee to make him more energetic for the night, only except this time, he decided that instead of printing just a cup of coffee, he was curious if the machine could print the perfect cup of coffee, so he decided to try.
The next morning, his coworkers found him hanged, and on his suicide note the following words were written: I have decided that it’s no longer worth living after knowing that nothing in life will ever be better than that cup of coffee.

Why the fuck would you swallow that? Its just the embodiment of instant gratification for negative consequences, at this point its better to just swallow some cum instead
You see, it isn't exactly about instant gratification, but more precisely about the coexistence of suffering with a gratification of any intensity

That was dramatic hahaha

I said no, it's kinda dumb to say yes
definetely not choosing the meth.

Interesting.

I would never do that crap. That pill would suck. You could just do some meth instead and not know the difference between meth and that pill. Might lose some teeth but at least you wouldn't be miserable for the rest of your life if you ever come off the bender.
