No it is not bad, but Adam and Eve were specifically told not to eat from that tree and they disobeyed. It wasn't because of the fact that God didn't want them to have knowledge but rather to test their obedience.
I believe science and knowledge is good. The church has had issues with it but I do not agree on their views on it at the time. I will send you a video which has 10 scientific facts in the Bible
