The nihilistic drive behind looksmaxxing comes from the gut-punch realization that the world often feels shallow and indifferent to who you are on the inside. If you feel like you’re trapped in a Kafkaesque loop where your success is tied to things you didn't choose, focusing on your aesthetics is a way to finally take the wheel. It’s about stripping away the "feel-good" lies and accepting that since life has no inherent script, you might as well optimize the one thing people actually see. By treating your appearance as a project, you’re not being vain you’re just finding a practical way to survive and thrive in a world that doesn't always play fair.

it's not useful thinking about these things from the individual perspective
"muh I can't find a person who loves me because I am ugly"
your sacrifice for society as a whole for participating in natural selection is invaluable
it helps make the next generation superior and experience greater happiness on average
is that not enough a sense of purpose, meaning, and joy?
