Your first half is right
But kindness comes from safety and validation, and a selfish exchange

If humans were truelly selfish, would they want what's good for others to seem better than others, or to make others be respectful and kind to them aswell

It's not a selfish act
But a selfish exchange
Thats actual humanity, you see it as poison because you assume you dont do the same
