I don't know about that.

There was an old woman in our neighbourhood whose son was going to get married. She wanted a docile wife for him who can obey her.

Her elder son's wife had to follow the restrictions the old hag imposed on her. Elder son went to other city along with his wife, obviously due to oppression.

She must have been oppressed by her partner's mom in her youth. She wants young gen women to go through what she faced. They simply don't want young women to be happier than them.

ive had the same experience


i understand your point on older generations, especially women, creating a cycle of oppression. theres proof in what you say for sure as ive heard it in stories. but i dont agree how when you get genuine rebuttals about women not being the problem, you just say "mustve been the women before them to do something" when you dont really know. usually both men and women of older generations uphold sexism, misogyny, and hatred for the "modern woman". goes both ways and theres no use in blaming one gender.

The only bad intention i've saw from bitter old women is sabotaging a younger girl perception of her actual relationship, especially when that young wanted to be married young.
In general those are divorced women who couldn't LTR a new guy and was jealous of their ex-husband doing better etc
