Everybody, doctors, parents, teachers is recommending to take Omega 3 nowadays because it's very beneficial and it's very important. But nobody is talking about how dangerous an omega 3 supplement can be.
Every natural source of omega 3 comes with natural antioxidants or natural protection for example in salmon:
In salmon there is astaxanthin and there is vitamin E which are very strong antioxidants. And the reason for that is because omega 3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids which means it's very prone to oxidation.
And prone to oxidation means it gets easily oxidized by a little bit of light or a little bit of heat. And when the omega 3 supplement gets produced and transported it inevitably gets oxidised.
Of course most supplements add a little bit of vitamin E inside each capsule to prevent oxidation. It's not super effective. And even if it's effective only in 1 supplement it's going to prevent oxidation inside the capsule. When you take the supplement itself it's not gonna be enough.
So if you're taking omega 3 supplement what you should do is always take it with antioxidants or get a lot of antioxidants from food to avoid oxidative damage.
Many supplements can be very beneficial and very dangerous at the same time if not taken properly (most famous example, vitamin D3 and K2).
