No dummy. They do it because they strongly feel that looks matter more than anything and it’s part of their identity. Same as jb. You take something to its extreme and then you do it unironically. That’s how you create a niche in-group. Without it you would have something like reddit where everyone is a conformist. Puahate, sluthate, lookism. It is diametrically opposed to capitalism and peaceful civilization. Puahate attacked the validity of self-improvement, sluthate denied political correctness, lookism defined that your genes define how you are treated. It’s mostly bullshit but it already gave big parts of a new generation cognitive dissonance and hopelessness.
