Carbs/refined sugar are far more responsible for face bloating than sodium imo

sodium isn't the enemy either way, studies show it's actually related to positive testosterone levels

it's not gonna ascend someone to chad but it's decent healthmaxxing. something I need rn

Yeah ik. It's just people with high blood pressure who would replace sodium with potassium as a salt substitute

as long as your blood pressure isn't chronically high it isn't much of a concern tbh

Then explain why i have good ass bones (or used to) everyone who rate me would be like "u have actual Chad bones"... and now I look boneless. I lost bone then?

if it doesn't apply to you then it doesn't apply to you, you aren't the people who i'm referring to then

youre right, sodium is not the enemy. but actually there isnt much proof that sodium can raise testosterone levels, or at least directly affect it. sodium influences the adrenal glands which control cortisol and aldosterone. people believe this though because the body can experience stress from low sodium levels which may disrupt the production of testosterone. sodium also helps nerve transmission and hydration which boost testosterone.

potassium counteracts and balances it instead of replaces sodium as some think. since it aids in the same processes as salt such as hydration and recuperation, i can understand why some people view it as a replacement. since they are both types of salt, that explains their similarities. however sodium and salt are not the same. having both would actually boost your chances of having normal testosterone levels.

the whole idea that you should cut sodium and have a bunch of potassium is something that bodybuilders do to change water retention. it is not intended for everyday use and is a short term for shows. yes, it will improve the appearance of your muscles, but it is not a lifelong habit. looksmxxers find one small thing that says will make them look a bit better and just spam it, not knowing what moderation is...

another reason people may say to take a bunch of potassium and cut sodium is that in a lot of modern diets, we have way too much sodium and not enough potassium, so its a way of balancing the two, but they should just outright say that instead of vilifying one substance over the other. there are more downsides to high sodium than there are to potassium, such as high blood pressure, which leads to heart problems. anyways, both are good
