neither dean withers or the guy in the vid a few messages up are good debaters. They make the conversation super inefficient by guessing what the other person is going to say, then talking over them when responding so that the other person constantly has to pause the explanation of their point and say "no, thats not what im saying"

A debate should be about refuting each others counterarguments until the other person doesnt have anymore, not simply explaining your point to the other person with no intention to change their minds, but rather gain the support of the people who already agree with you.
