TLDR: worrying about obtaining perfection is impossible and is out of your control, there’s no point wasting time trying to obtain it, focus on getting good results instead of going overboard and ‘flying too close to the sun’.
This more goes out to those who are like me who struggle with trying to obtain perfection instead of leaving good enough alone.
This can be applied to all avenues in life, but in this case I will apply it to looksmaxxing. I used to (and still do) struggle with stressing over trying to chase perfection, letting the BP take over my life constantly getting me into a rut of stress and worry, with even minor things like a slight bit of dry skin on my forehead, or a line under my eye stressing me out severely due to the small implications it had in regards to very slightly degrading my looks, even though no one else cared and still received compliments for my appearance.
There will always be someone better than us, but it doesn’t mean we aren’t better than other people either. And yes, there will come a time for everyone are looks will fade, but the only person you will have forever in your life is you, and thus you must try to become your own best friend if you want a good quality of life. I know it’s easy for me to say, but try to talk less negatively upon yourself, also find a drive as well, in my case I’ve taken up gardening again as I gain fulfilment out of it and have liked doing so since I was a child.
I get it, getting validation from people is important, but prioritising it over validating yourself and neglecting your self esteem will send you into a world of hurt, ironically the stress of chasing perfection for your looks will age you faster and worsen your looks significantly. You need to live for yourself, not for what others think of you.
Sorry for the rant, just thought I’d get this off my chest for those who are in a similar boat to me.
If you read this all, thank you, and if you didn’t, that’s fine too.
