What is PGP?

PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) is a way to encrypt messages to make ANY messaging app end to end encrypted (meaning only you and the guy ur speaking to can see what ur saying, no nasty jews in the way, the way it works is you generate a key pair, a public key and private key, only hand out your PUBLIC key so people can send you encrypted messages, NEVER. AND I MEAN NEVER. SEND YOUR PRIVATE KEY, THIS GIVES PEOPLE THE ABILITY TO DECRYPT MESSAGES THAT ARE ONLY MADE FOR YOU TO DECRYPT, itll ask you for name and email for a pgp key but you dont need to put a real nane or email, once you made you key ill show you what to do, for this guide ill use OpenKeychains but it works the same universally

For this guide ill speak to myself in pgp, here i have my 2 keys

Ill copy one of these key blocks, as you can see here
IMG_20260804_171344.webp

Now youll send your key block to the person you want to speak to
IMG_20260804_171616.webp
Now the other guy has to send his own key too, you copy his key, and for openkeychains you click the + at the bottom right
IMG_20260804_171737.webp

Now click "Import from File"
IMG_20260804_171834.webp

And once youre here you click thr the dots at the top right and click "Read from clipboard"
IMG_20260804_171934.webp

Now you see you can import the key, once you import on OpenKeychains go back to the main menu and click on the hamburger icon
IMG_20260804_172046.webp

Now click on Encrypt/Decrypt
IMG_20260804_172124.webp

Now click on "Encrypt text" to encrypt a message, select the name of the guy you want to encrypt it to then type your message
IMG_20260804_172231.webp

After you type your message, click the copy button here
IMG_20260804_172352.webp

Then send over your encrypted PGP message
IMG_20260804_172443.webp

Now if you sent over your public keys correctly the other guy can decrypt it, as ill show now.
IMG_20260804_172544.webp

The guy will go to the Decrypt/Verify option to Read from clipboard

Now if everything goes well you end up with a decrypted message that only you two saw
