When we talk about people, it’s important to remember something very important: people are all different, no matter where they come from. 🌍

If a 3-year-old asked this, you could say:

“Sometimes on the bus or train, some people talk loudly. Some people talk quietly. Everybody learns to talk in their own way at home. In some families, people use big, loud voices because they are excited or happy. In other families, people use soft voices. It’s not about what they look like or where they’re from — it’s just different ways of talking.”

You could also add:

“Just like some kids like to jump and some like to sit still, grown-ups are different too!”

The most important thing to teach is that we shouldn’t say a whole group of people acts the same way. Everyone is their own person. 💛
