I got up to 80 on qwerty and plateaued, learning colemak now
80 is still impressive. colemak has a difficult learning curve but has a similar functionality to those specialized keyboards in courtrooms. i forgot what they’re called directly or if they’re the same or not. i only have 120ish wpm because ive used qwerty for my entire life, not because it’s efficient tbh

it was brutal for the first couple days but once u get to like 25wpm u can just commit permanently with no issues, the rolls are lots of fun even if udc about ergonomic shit

Every time I test for it, it's normally 160+, but that's because I'm intentionally trying to type fast. I would probably say the 120-150 WPM sounds accurate for me on average.

Normally it's not possible to type fast and have it be 100% accurate. I normally have to edit all of my posts all the time because I read it back and go "wtf was I saying here?"

typing tests making you write something you’re actively reading is probably not the best way to test. some people read slowly and most people type what they’re thinking as theyre thinking about it. i write pretty fast becuz of slang n shit but most the time if im trying to convey a precise point to somebody, i default to more proper grammar n spelling. but for a lot of ppl switching back n forth from proper grammar vs not can influence the results of those typing tests as well
