Premolar extraction cope

Hello around 1 year ago or so,I had my left upper premolar extacted for crowding while having braces. i feel like its made my left side of my cheek so much more flatter and i just started rubberbands today, so i was wondering am I going insane or can such a dramatic change happen from just one tooth?

yes, sadly it can, as it shortens ur palate, and therefore reccesses (ignore my spelling) your entire face
