tbh i think power scaling is fine but idk why people get emotionally attached to it

goku is my favourite anime mc but there are probably hundreds of mcs who are overpowered enough to beat him

goku being an alien is foreshadowed in og dragon ball (people forget for the whole of the og series they just thought he was a monkey boy)
piccolo and kami both being aliens is foreshadowed in the og show
gohans insane potential is foreshadowed from the first few episodes of dbz (and throughout the series up until he goes ssj2)
super saiyan is foreshadowed an arc before the one it first appears in
ultra instinct was already being foreshadowed like 3 arcs before it appeared
theres some more stuff in the manga but i dont want to spoil

its not as much as other anime since the writer has literally said he does most of his writing on the fly and based off vibes, but these are all major plot points
