Getting an RPE (palate expander) in a month or so. Is it true that it can pull your maxilla down? Is there anything I should know before I confirm it?

A slight downward displacement of the maxilla is correct, but it is temporary once the expansion is complete, the bone returns to its original position due to the pressure of the chewing muscles, and it does not lengthen the face
