This is untrue though to my knowledge, statistics show that it is assortative mating that reigns king. It may not be necessarily by looksmatch but I guess an overall SMV profile match. Income, degree, hobbies, personality, looks, height, etc. that would all have an effect on mating outcomes. Would you like my sources?

By phenotypes do you mean all that North Atlantid, Med, etc. or the general term? With assortative mating it pretty much just means people dating / choosing partners similar to them, that includes physical characteristics (say a woman is fit, that woman is more likely to date someone fit as well.), mental characteristics (such as promiscuity), and other things like status, income, etc.
