Dissonance would imply you hold the logical and the emotional perception simultaneously, not that one lags behind. For dissonance, yes there're moments when a argument/topic is heated, so you understand it logically but emotionally resist it. When that occurs I'd try to minimize the emotional leakage to the convo.

For asynchrony, yes similar in a way that sometimes I might focus on the logical aspect and the emotional comes later.

thats a good differentiation. it's interesting how being conscious of either one can alter how a conversation turns out. dissonance creates internal conflict where you must choose between emotion and reason at that very instant, i guess. logic may seem like the right option always, but its situational. asynchrony may cause you to respond slowly since you may not fully understand the significance of the exchange until later. you might even feel regret later. ive always thought that asynchrony is bad

learning to integrate both in real time is the challenge. not allowing emotional input to distort logical reasoning. you also cant do it all yourself, as you need cues from the other person on what to do. but that is just a conversation explained in a complex way
