Red light rejuvenates the skin?

A Controlled Trial to Determine the Efficacy of Red and Near-Infrared Light Treatment in Patient Satisfaction, Reduction of Fine Lines, Wrinkles, Skin Roughness, and Intradermal Collagen Density Increase (paper)

A February 2014 paper had 136 volunteers participating in a randomized, controlled study to see the effect of two photobiomodulation (red light) sessions per week for 30 treatments total.

This had a dramatic rejuvenating effect on their skin:

The treated subjects experienced significantly improved skin complexion and skin feeling, profilometrically assessed skin roughness, and ultrasonographically measured collagen density. The blinded clinical evaluation of photographs confirmed significant improvement in the intervention groups compared with the control.

GREEN TEA

Putting green tea on your skin then using a red light (or going in the sun) is one of the most anti aging skin hacks.

In just a few months, it was able to rejuvenate the skin and reduce wrinkles in these patients.

I will definitely try the latter...

I'm saving up for the lumirelax red light RLT is underrated
is true

not only supports skin health, but also muscle recovery, joint health, lowers inflammation and supports mitochondrial health.

I also want to have my own red light equipment although in my country you can only get it from a chinese brand (not very good) jfl

Good thread, bookmarked.
Would you say there are any drawbacks to this aside from cost?

Benefits are so minimal and it's expensive. Just do Pdo($20 for 10) and save for lasers and chem peels later on.
And if you're scared of needles you can use lidocaine and just remember that gym creates greater inflammation and damge to your body than what an intramuscular 29g needle will do to your face.

The benefits of RED LIGHT are off the charts:
  • Sheds belly fat
  • Improves insulin resistance
  • Grows hair
  • Improves cognitive function
  • Anti-aging for the skin
  • Improves vision
  • Raises dopamine
  • Reverses fatty liver
  • Raises testosterone
  • Improves fertility
  • Stimulates brain cell growth
  • Improves mitochondrial function
  • Improves recovery after exercise
  • Bolsters thyroid function
  • Anti-inflammatory
Few things have as many benefits and as much research behind them as red light.

If you can't get out in the sun, a device can be helpful for so many different uses.
