I (56F) found my husband (58M) in an old gay adult film from 1989. I’m spiralling and don’t know how to bring it up.

I’m using a throwaway because this is easily the strangest, most surreal thing I’ve ever had to write.

My husband (58M) and I (56F) have been married for 26 years. We have two kids (one still at home) and a quiet life in Florida. A few nights ago, while he was out picking up our youngest, I was browsing adult videos online. Middle-aged marriage is apparently just laundry, blood pressure pills, and accidentally detonating your entire life on the internet.

I ended up on a very specific, vintage gay adult film from 1989. It was an old tropical, travel-style production filmed in Brazil. At first, I was just amused by how dated it looked. Then, one of the actors came on screen, and my stomach completely dropped.

It was my husband.

This isn't a case of "he vaguely looked like him." I mean the exact face, the smile, the dimples, the eyes, the pirate tattoo, and the way he moves. When we met, he was exceptionally good-looking: dark hair, piercing eyes, and a tall, lean swimmer's body. I know his face. I know his body. After nearly three decades together, there is no mistaking it.

I researched the film's cast, and while they all used stage names with zero real-world information available, one name fits him perfectly. I won't share it to protect everyone's privacy, but the reality is sinking in.

What is messing me up isn't just the nature of the film. It's the omission. When we met, he told me he’d only had one serious girlfriend before me and painted his past as completely normal and boring. Now I’m looking at this video thinking, *What else didn’t you tell me?*

I am caught in a loop of questions. Was this a one-time transactional thing for quick youth travel cash? Is he bisexual? Is he gay and hiding it? Did he do more films? Did he have an entire life I know nothing about? Part of me is furious, part of me feels stupid, and part of me is grieving. I feel like I'm looking at two completely different versions of the same man, and I don't know which one I married.

He has absolutely no idea I found it. I haven't confronted him yet because I don't know how to do it without sounding unhinged.

* Do I name the specific film right away?
* Do I actually show him the footage?
* Do I ask him open-ended questions first, or do I just flat-out tell him I already know?

I don't want graphic details. I just want the truth about who he was, whether our marriage was built on a lie, and confirmation that nothing continued into our life together. Has anyone ever navigated a partner's massive, secret sexual past decades later? How do I start this conversation?
