Serious Rep farming is crazy

I just saw a post by a staff member about how rep farming is not something the staff should "encourage or allow" and it got me thinking about how crazy the idea is.

I just find it crazy people seriously lust after points on an internet forum, and it isn't just here but in other places like Reddit. I can kinda understand it if it is likes on Instagram or something of the sort, because those actually mean something and represent value. Is there something you can spend them on?
