this is a stupid post but sometimes i do wonder

my dad often scolds me for primarily lifting because i'll gain a bunch of fat and lose all the muscle if i never lift again (which won't be happening soon) because that happened to him (tho he works blue collar so he didn't actually lose much muscle, just weight gain).

but, this has never happened to me lol? i didn't go to the gym for about 1.5months a little while back and nothing changed or worsened lol. i didn't change my eating habits too much either; in fact, i came back to the gym stronger in most of my body.

so is that really possible?? to become terribly unhealthy if i stop heavily working out?? because understandable if i get like horribly sick or depressed or something but that's not gonna happen any time soon either💀💀

I think your body tends to preserve the muscles you have, trying to keep it that way. This is why growing muscles is hard, your body doesn't wants to grow, it wants to preserve its state. But once you got them, same logic your body always has unless health imbalance will now make hard to loose the muscle you have.
So having a physical change is hard both for people who try to change it for good and people who stopped putting that much effort on its already healthy Physique.
You need less stimulus to keep the muscle than to make it grow basically
And fat is storage when you eat more than what you need
Basically follow whitepill advice, if you eat good, and do some minimal movement, you will stay the same until age starts doing its things
