trying to get better so i won’t absolutely suck during track, im very out of shape and have been smoking everyday pretty much since march so i get tired very easily. gonna cut down on the weed tho. any tips for an absolute beginner?

smoking bad 😡😡 but someone i know does laps around the school every day and they r really fast

keep ur head up, posture straight, make sure ur opposite hand is moving synchronously with your opposite leg (ex. If ur right arm is out then get ur left leg out), Breath through your nose every 3 steps, start at a slow pace and build up from there, run around .6-1 mile at first and try to go further every other day.
Bc ur doing track, managing ur speed is the most important. This video might help u a bit:

also since u smoke I’d recommend getting an over the counter inhaler. Take it around 5 minutes before ur run. I have asthma and it obv helps a lot.
tbh it depends on how much time u have until the season. r u doing spring or winter track?

winter but my friend who does it said it’s pretty chill and a good thing to do to prepare for spring which is more competitive

aight so first if you wanna improve spiriting, run at full speed for 20 seconds x3 take breaks in-between. work out legs 3x a week.
