My guess

1) Devoutly religious people hate the nature of such cult. Surprise suprise, they are also sheep-like in nature most of the time and have a follow the herd mentality.

2) Those people like to play with the whole "satanic" aesthetic and then whine on and on about how it's all misunderstood and bla bla bla.

Statements like these are actually a win/victory for those who are truly apart of a rebellious movement

Forcing an illogical insult like that = genuinely breaking a barrier of taboo/indoctrination within a society that you are affected by

Even theistic satanists don't worship the bibical Satan , in fact they don't worship any gods at all , they believe in the existence of dark gods , more like friends that grant help
