Why people started requesting self bans so often? And it's mainly new accs, is this about way to show off? What is the point? You only got here, and you already request self ban? Even if it is temporary, what's the point?

Your statement "Because they don't want to be here for a period of time" is not right to be stated as "obvious", as it is not the only possible reason. Correlation between self baning and refusement to exist on this froum can be seen, but it should not be stated as "obvious".

For instance: person had trouble with his/her parent, and, as a result, parent made her/his child request a self ban.
Is it a possible situation? Yes.
Is it likely to be true in this world? Not really.
