short = unattractive?

This is something I genuinely cant wrap my head around, I can kinda see why tall men can be attractive but I feel like it just comes down to preferences. So I really cant understand why short guys are so clowned or why it would be strange to prefer a short guy over a tall guy. I feel like there's a science behind it I'm missing, or maybe I'm looking for another word but I'm definitely failing to see something. Like why is it normalized if a girl doesn't wanna date a guy cuz he's short but its strange if a girl doesn't wanna date a guy cuz he's tall.

i think theres a couple main reasons

taller = gives the perception of intimidation and protection that women naturally like, while i do think its somewhat natural for women to like taller men i do think this importance of height has been exaggerated too much

social status = our modern society has placed such a high emphasis on height to the point where its become a status symbol, so women would often want taller men simply bc of the social status

Unconsciously taller men are more attractive more dominant with better genes to fit survival, ate more calories etc

The conspirationist theory i saw a while ago on a french forum is that there is a nerve in a woman's neck who is pinched when she raise her head (as the opposite of lowering her head so she consider you with disrespect/submissive/disgust) and so once pinched she automatically respects/loves you far better, the same area (the neck) who is grabbed during sex so she likes you even more. Absolute junk trash theory but it was funny back in 2014
