My dog died like 3 weeks ago and my cat has been really sad lately. Like he used to go otuside all the time and stuff but now he just stays in and sleeps. The weirdest thing he has done was eat HIS OWN FECES yesterday morning. Not just that, he doesn’t wanna eat his favourite treats anymore

Take the cat to the vet, eating it own poop meaning high stress or nutritional deficiencies

Your cat is lonely
You should get another pet because naturally cats are more social compared to other animals
The dog that died was a boxer. My boxer was loving and was always with my cat. I have a chihuahua that sometimes gets close to my cat but won’t spend much time with him like my boxer did. My boxer loved being hugged and just being with my cat or people because he liked the company and my chihuahua likes to be on his own

Ideally just get another cat so same species communication is possible.
Goodluck
