Basically this is a guide to different ingredients of skincare and how to incorporate it into your routine according to your skin issues

Something you want to keep in mind, is some acne can be hormonal or genetic, sometimes simple skincare wouldn’t do the job and you should see a dermatologist

A simple routine will do, you don’t want a chemical reaction or something, also this is my first guide don’t be over critical.

1. Retinoids (Retinol, Retinal, Adapalene, Tretinoin)
  • Speed up skin cell turnover
  • Stimulate collagen production
  • Unclog pores

Treats:
  • Acne
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Dark spots/post-acne marks

Best for: Acne, anti-aging, texture concerns:
  • Can cause dryness, peeling, and irritation at first.
  • Use at night and wear sunscreen during the day.


2. Salicylic Acid (BHA)
  • Oil-soluble exfoliant that penetrates pores
  • Dissolves excess oil and dead skin

Treats:
  • Blackheads
  • Whiteheads
  • Oily skin
  • Mild acne

Best for: acne-prone skin



3. Glycolic Acid (AHA)

  • Exfoliates the skin surface
  • Improves skin brightness and texture

Treats:
  • Dullness
  • Rough texture
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Fine lines

Best for: sun-damaged skin



4. Lactic Acid (AHA)

  • Gently exfoliates
  • Attracts moisture to the skin

Treats:
  • Dryness

5. Azelaic Acid


  • Reduces inflammation
