Social Dynamics and Power Imbalance
Wrote this a couple weeks ago but thought about it a lot today so wanted to post it
In an interaction between two people there is always a power imbalance. The person who cares and wants more is at a disadvantage. Being satisfied while alone is a trait that attracts people to you. When you aren’t given something, you naturally want it more leading to the a person who gives less attention being sought after.
People that give less attention often receive lots.
Examples:
“I already have enough friends, I don’t need another one”
*99+ unopened dms*
“My mom gave me attention growing up, I don’t need it form you”
These aren’t real quotes just situations clearly
Being unloved sends you down the spiral of seeking approval leading you continuously being unloved which starts the cycle of attention deprivation and seeking and deprivation and seeking. Never ends
“He wasn’t loved by his mother”
“Daddy/Mommy issues”
All these issues can be attributed to neediness. You must be independent. Your emotions should not run off of others actions. You must be secure in who you are. If you’re bad at A and good at B you are not allowed for those two opinions to be changed no matter what anyone says until you evaluate it yourself analytically.
If you’re not stoic then at least be stubborn in your view but no matter what never let another persons words or actions dictate your emotions.
