Even if you try and justify a claim against their point they continuously repeat the same argument you’ve already attempted to refute 5 times

I realised this too late i always used to try to explain myself then i realised this is like pointless because they don’t reason at all they are unreasonable so trying to reason with the unreasonable is just a fool’s errand

yes I realised a large majority of people pretend to be interested in politics and claim to be ‘well educated’ (aka agreeing with the popular consensus) in order to gain a sort of moral superiority over others
even though if you actually attempted to debate them they can only repeat the same 3 tiktok arguments like a broken record

Well the majority of the population overall cannot think at all and not on some “free thinker” shit but genuinely if you talked to people and asked about anything you will realise they basically know nothing or surface level information and i don’t think its an Iq problem as well. I think we are just too spoon-fed with info we can’t understand so we just accept it cause of the majority to not feel stupid if we are wrong.

yes i agree, you don’t have to have an above average iq to look beyond the most popular content/ideas, i guess it’s just a matter of self interest and what the individual desires
like the people who i just mentioned, their main desire is to maintain/build status so their goal would be to appear as likeable/ethical as possible by agreeing with popular opinions regardless of whether they understand it or not
even if they had a contrary opinion they would suppress this in the fear of being judged
however people who aren’t entirely revolved around their own perception of status and popularity may have deviating opinions and make an effort to understand the content they consume because other’s judgement is not of great importance to them
i do believe everyone responds to people’s judgement to an extent, there are just some who seek more validation than others.
yet both people could have the same iq. i guess it just depends on a variety of factors, like their previous life experiences or relationships which may make them more inclined to seek validation in fear of being ostracised

mild opinions i've shared have ruined some of my social relationships so best to just stay quiet
not necessarily to say i follow blindly but i would only share certain things with like minded people

There’s also all the other obvious problems of things being learned from social media, sourcing, dramatization, attention spans. But another thing that’s not talked about is the fact that nobody now remembers how they know what they know, there’s knowledge without contact and information nowadays is learned without it actually being understood which prevents it from being internalized. We basically hand it off to someone else and decision making becomes divorced from deliberation. AI is outsourcing thought just as the industrial revolution outsourced physical labor

Tldr knowledge is dead and flat now despite us having more than we ever had access to in the past
